E-Signature Legal Notice

Last updated: 20 July 2026 — draft; review by counsel before public launch.

What this provides

FileBee's Request Signatures produces a simple electronic signature (SES) — the signer draws or types their signature, which is bound to the document along with a record of when and from where it was signed. Under the US ESIGN Act and EU eIDAS regulation, simple electronic signatures are generally valid and enforceable for most everyday agreements.

What this is not

This is not an Advanced or Qualified Electronic Signature (AES/QES), and it is not notarization. It does not verify the signer's legal identity beyond control of their email link. Some documents — wills, certain property transfers, court filings — may legally require a higher level of signature or in-person execution. If in doubt, consult a lawyer for your jurisdiction and document type.

Audit record

Each completed document includes a signature certificate page listing every signer, the time they signed, a one-way hash of their IP address, and a SHA-256 hash of the original document so any later change can be detected.

Retention

Signature requests and their files are deleted automatically after 30 days. Download and keep your own copy of the completed document.
